Titre : New Studies in the Synoptic Problem Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : FOSTER, Paul, Éditeur scientifique ; GREGORY, Andrew, Éditeur scientifique ; KLOPPENBORG, John S., Éditeur scientifique ; VERHEYDEN, Joseph, Éditeur scientifique Editeur : Leuven : Peeters Année de publication : 2011 Collection : Bibliotheca Ephemeridum Theologicarum Lovaniensium num. 239 Importance : 961 p ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-90-429-2401-7 Langues : (zzz) Résumé : This volume contains the acts of the international conference on the Synoptic Problem that was organised at Lincoln College, Oxford, in April 2008. The conference focused on offering a comprehensive assessment of the state of research into the Synoptic Problem over the last hundred years, indicating potential ways in which the discussion might be advanced. In more than thirty essays contributors have dealt with various aspects of the question, including the current state of synoptic studies in general, a comparative assessment of the major synoptic hypotheses, the synoptic gospels and ancient scribal practices, the role and function of hypothetical sources, the synoptic gospels and other gospels, and the reception history of the research. This volume marks the centenary of the publication of the Studies in the Synoptic Problem by Members of the University of Oxford, the results of William Sanday's Seminar that had ran for some fifteen years. But primarily it honours a distinguished contributor to current scholarship on the Synoptic Problem, Christopher M. Tuckett, Professor of New Testament studies at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Pembroke College.

Titre : READING JAMES WITH NEW EYES : Methodological Reassessments of the Letter of James Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : KLOPPENBORG, John S., Auteur ; WEBB, Robert L., Auteur Editeur : U.S.A. : Mark Goodacre Année de publication : 2007 Collection : Library of New Testament Studies num. 342 Importance : 197 p ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-567-03125-9 Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : The letters of James, 1 and 2 Peter, and Jude are among the most neglected letters of the New Testament. Thus, methodological advances in New Testament study tend to arise among the Gospels or Pauline letters. But now these letters are beginning to receive increased attention in the scholarly community.
Reading James With New Eyes is the first of four volumes that incorporate new research in this area. The essays collected here examine the impact of recent methodological developments in New Testament studies to the letter of James, including, for example, rhetorical, social-scientific, socio-rhetorical, ideological and hermeneutical methods, as they contribute to understanding James and its social context. Each essay has a similar three-fold structure, making them perfect for use by students: a description of the methodological approach; the application of the methodological approach to James; and a conclusion identifying how the methodological approach contributes to a fresh understanding of the letter.Note de contenu : 30/04/14 Permalink : https://rimont.bibliossimo.info/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=390 Réservation

Titre : Synoptic Problems : Collected Essays Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : KLOPPENBORG, John S., Auteur Editeur : Tübingen : Mohr Siebeck Année de publication : 2014 Collection : Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zum Neuen Testament num. 329 Importance : 737 p ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-16-152617-6 Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : This volume contains a collection of twenty-one essays of John S. Kloppenborg, with four foci: conceptual and methodological issues in the Synoptic Problem; the Sayings Gospel Q; the Gospel of Mark; and the Parables of Jesus. Kloppenborg, a major contributor to the Synoptic Problem, is especially interested in how one constructs synoptic hypotheses, always aware of the many gaps in our knowledge, the presence of competing hypotheses, and the theological and historical entailments in any given hypothesis. Common to the essays in the remaining three sections is the insistence that the literature, thought and practices of the early Jesus movement must be treated with a deep awareness of their social, literary, and intellectual contexts. The context of the early Jesus movement is illumined not simply by resort to the literary and historical sources produced by Greek and Roman elites but, more importantly, by data gathered from documentary sources available in non-literary papyri.
